The Van Allen School staff recognizes that parental involvement is a cornerstone for a successful school and encourages it in a variety of ways. Our staff invites parents to volunteer in the classroom on a regular basis. At Back to School Night, the teachers inform their parents of the many opportunities available for them to be involved with their child’s education.
The school holds a variety of parent events throughout the year to strengthen the partnership between home and school. These events include but are not limited to Family Math Night which is held in the fall, and Family Reading Night and Family Science Night which are held in the spring and encourage families to work together on math, reading, and science skills. We provide Spanish translation for all of our events and communicate home via email, voice, and text messaging using the Aeries Loop communication suite.
