Van Allen's 5th grade students received a greatly anticipated treat this morning from El Portal's Instrumental Band and Choir students. Mr. White and Mrs. Carbajal facilitated wonderful introductions to both sides of the music department while rapt 5th graders learned about the various instruments they could choose from and competitive opportunities at the middle and high school levels. El Portal students performed beautifully, their talent and hard work were plain to see. All students were incredibly respectful and responsible throughout their visit, a testament to their maturity as well as the care and concern of their supportive teachers and families.
